My Invented Proverbs - Part III

  • People fear confrontation, not because it requires courage, but because it could give them answers to their problems and then, there would be nothing to rant about
  • Of all things "Made in China", I like their "Proverbs" the most
  • Never judge a decision by its results
  • Be context sensitive in making judgments, but your commitment to "context sensitive"-ness should be context free.
  • One of the biggest truth of life is Peer Pressure. Check yours to see if it is positive or negative.
  • Blind Faith is better than False Rationality. It is obvious better to believe in something with a reason than believe blindly. But it is better to believe in something blindly than believe something with a reason that is downright false or concocted to rationalize the belief.
  • There is one thing common between Cute Kids and Dirty Politics -- Redundant Adjective
  • GOD's purpose with creating religion would be complete the day, footwear stops getting stolen from outside places of worship
  • The biggest damage done to public images of historical figures is by their over zealous followers
  • True sense of justice lies not only in ability to chose between right and wrong, but also in realizing that in some situations, such a choice need not or should not be exercised

Murphy's Laws

  • Murphy's Law : If something can go wrong, it will.
  • Murphy's Second Law : If something can't go wrong, it still will.
  • Corollary to Murphy's Law : If something can go wrong in multiple possible ways, it will go wrong in the worst possible way.
  • Silverman's Law : If Murphy's Law can go wrong, it will.

Election Time

Election time in my university. Lucky that the elections are at a Hostel level alone (max stake of 400 people), else it could be nastier.

Had read somewhere before that, there is no such thing as a rational buyer, so goes the case with election candidates trying to sell themselves to the constituency, their cant be rational voters, just issues touching the emotional strings of the voters.

In an election scenario, accusing someone of Nepotism is like buying a lottery ticket, losing money and crying "It ain't fair, I do not deserve it".

For I always thought that Politics is nothing different from Nepotism, albeit legalized and at a much grander scale.

Good Better Than None Better Than Bad

Just a thought that crossed my mind during the start of last semester, when I had the option to choose my room (consequentially my roomie) that

A good roomie is better than living alone, but living alone is better than having a bad roomie.

Looks as if the philosophy could extend onto all other things, like project mates, even professors (a bad professor could be a deterrent to education)

Lastly choose a spouse you like or stay single :D

Chand saal ke haalaat pe aansoo bahaa rahey hai ham
Hai yeh naaz jinko kee Khudaa hai saath unke
Nahee jaantey, Maalik hai, Shahid nahee hai Woh.
Kyaa jaan maangtee hai ek badlaa jaan hee kaa
Sharminda khadey hongey jo haq sunaa rahaa hai Woh.
- Khalil Sawant

Hum bat gaye

Hum bat gaye to humne, murdo ko bhi na chhoda
Galib le gaya koi, koi Iqbal le gayaa !!!

My Invented Proverbs - Part I

  • People refuse to ask questions for the fear that, they may get an answer they don't want to hear.
  • I believe in the Self and Humanity. Anything in between is Nepotism.
  • It's not about mismatched frequencies. It's about the plane of polarization.
  • The truth of life lies midway between stupidity and villainy.
  • You are only as brave as the one behind you.
  • An ideal mind is GOD's workshop.
  • The problem with the world is that, they expect functional answers for decidability problems and decision answers for functional problems.

How do we decide ? :O

When a good person is successful/happy, GOD is rewarding him/her.
When a good person is unsuccessful/sad, GOD is trying him/her.
When a bad person is successful/happy, GOD is giving him/her time for redemption or allowing for complacency to worsen punishment.
When a bad person is unsuccessful/sad, GOD is punishing him/her.

So if a person is successful/happy/unsuccessful/sad, can we judge him/her to be good/bad ?
Do our goodness/badness dictate our success/happiness ?
